Tuscany: go with children at the Archaeological Park

A JOURNEY INTO STONE AGE

After swimming in the pool and taking a bike ride, children may get a little bored. Arouse their curiosity by taking them to the Belvedere Natural Archaeological Park, just 5 km from the campsite: a real journey into stone age, to see the life in these areas first hand, from Neanderthals to the Bronze Age.

The park is a natural monument to Italian prehistory, located in an environment of great naturalistic value. 2 km of path cross a suggestive holm oak’s wood, where it is possible to visit the natural cavities and the marvellous evidences of the civilizations that lived there.

Located inside the park, the Archeodrome is a building dedicated to experimental archaeology, and here revives the prehistoric daily life of a small Bronze Age village and a Palaeolithic cave settlement. Children will become archaeologists for a day, and try their hand at researching, excavating and restoring archaeological relics, taking part in workshops and manual activities.
